Bears trade Roquan Smith away for a 2 and a 5?

Must Read

As if this season hasn’t been frustrating enough for Bears fans Roquan Smith has been traded to the Ravens for 2nd and 5th round picks. The trade comes one day after the Bears dropped to 3-5 after a 49-29 loss to the Cowboys.

In a season where new HC Matt Eberflus has struggled to get much out of his offence, defence has been the sole strength of the Bears on game day. General Manager has now shipped Robert Quinn and Smith within a week and only received second, fourth, and fifth round picks in return.

Roquan Smith should’ve been extended in the off-season

Having failed to extend Roquan Smith in the summer the star linebacker requested a trade and the Bears lost a considerable amount of their leverage in the trade market. However, the Bears had already traded Khalil Mack and received a second and a sixth in return.

Smith has led the Bears in tackles every year since being drafted with the 8th overall pick in the 2018 draft.
